Canberra Campus

Capital College’s campus in Canberra is conveniently located adjacent to the ANU university precinct, close to public transport and light rail. Government services, banking, shopping, entertainment, dining, and cultural attractions are all a short walk or e-scooter ride away. We occupy the whole floor of University Avenue’s landmark building, having converted what were once federal courtrooms into spacious and modern classrooms, with a multipurpose student hub and lounge with superfast student wifi, well-stocked student kitchen, library room, and quiet study areas. The eastern wing houses offices and additional meeting rooms for our training faculty, with the southern wing dedicated to student administration and support.

With a population of 427,000 people, Canberra is Australia’s capital city, a leafy student-centric and family-friendly metropolis with modern suburbs spread out around Lake Burley Griffin and the foothills of Black Mountain and the Alpine National Park. It has been voted the #1 Best Place to Live in the country and is renowned as one of the safest cities in the world. Elevated 1,889 feet above sea level, the city enjoys four distinct seasons with temperatures ranging from -2ºC to 27ºC. Snowfields and ski resorts are a two-hour drive to the south, warm beaches two hours to the east, and Sydney three hours to the north.

Canberra is youthful and multicultural with 50% of the population under 35 years, and 32% born overseas. The city is thriving, with the lowest unemployment in the nation and jobs growth forecast as follows: 18% growth in management & administration; 13% growth in health, aged care, and disability care; 9% growth in construction and building; 8% growth in childcare and education; and 4% growth in food services and hotel work. Canberra is 14% less expensive to live in compared to Sydney and Melbourne. It’s ideal for students.
