The Diploma of Information Technology (ICT50118) will equip you with a foundation of knowledge and skills to deliver better systems, networks, information management and results in this rapidly evolving field. Given how pervasive information and security have become in an increasingly cloud-based, on-demand, AI-enabled world, this knowledge is considered by many as essential for all roles in the enterprise, not just for careers in IT. A blend of lectures, simulations, and hands-on activities are designed to create an immersive experience for discussion of strategic, technical, and organisational considerations, with many 'light bulb moments’
Course Fees
Entry Requirements
Minimum Australian Year 12 Senior Secondary Certificate of Education (or foreign equivalent).
Minimum age 18 unless you are enrolling directly from Year 12 aged 17. All students under 18 must provide evidence of a Homestay arrangement and signed permission from a parent or legal guardian.
Minimum English language proficiency of IELTS 5.5 (overall band) or equivalent.
Student visa or temporary graduate visa. Where a student has received a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) and visa but cannot travel to Australia, the course may commence online. Students may choose to undertake the course online outside Australia with no visa and no CoE.
Students will submit a pre-training assessment review to assess if the course is appropriate for their interests and abilities, plus an LLN test to determine learner needs

In order to achieve the ICT50118 Diploma of Information Technology, students must satisfactorily complete 20 units of competency: 6 core units plus 14 elective units.

Additional Information
What to Study Next?
Students awarded this qualification may progress to our Advanced Diploma of Information Technology (ICT60220) and then onwards to a Bachelor’s degree in technology with our Higher Education partners. Ongoing training in technology microCredentials and industry-recognised certification with the Australian Computer Society is available to Capital College students.
Upon successful completion of the 20 units of competency in this course, students will be issued the ICT50118 Diploma of Information Technology qualification.
If a student does not complete the full qualification but has successfully achieved units, a Statement of Attainment will be issued, indicating the units completed. Graduates may be eligible for credit towards a university and/or guaranteed entry to a top Australian University.
